Mercy Ndana Machiya joined CNHR in 2015 as the Program Officer-Scientific. She is a highly skilled, resourceful, versatile and accomplished Health Management Professional, with excellent technical, management and leadership skills. Mercy possesses over twenty (20) years senior level experience in directing the activities of diverse health research and development programs and processes in several Sub Saharan Countries. She has served on Think Tanks, Technical Working Groups and Board positions at regional and international level. Mercy has had vast experience working in partnership with governments, national and regional parliaments, parastatals, civil society organizations, UN agencies and regional economic bodies on health research, HIV and AIDS, Population and Education. A certified Project Management Professional, Mercy brings on board exceptional results based program management, monitoring and evaluation and fundraising skills. Mercy is passionate about giving back to the community and believes that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Ms. Winnie Munene

Programme Officer (Grants Management)

Winnie Munene has been involved in the management of research grants for the past Eight (8) years. She joined the Consortium for National Health Research in 2014 after working in various universities including the University of Nairobi and Kenya Methodist University as a researcher/adjunct lecturer. Winnie has also been involved in various research studies as the lead researcher. In 2010, she worked as a consultant for the Fairtrade Movement in Meru County and helped to unearth challenges that deter progress of locally owned community development projects. In this study, the project beneficiaries were helped to identify challenges that faced the management of premiums and mechanisms were developed on a case to case basis and interventions’ thereof rolled out. This research work was presented during the 2nd Annual Research Conference held in August 2014 at Kenya Methodist University, and has been used as a template by various locally owned community development initiatives to identify and address challenges they face in program management

Ms. Ndunge Kiundi

Ndunge E. Kiundi is an advertising, production and communication strategy expert. Ms. Kiundi has over ten years in communications field in both production and crafting corporate strategy. She has strong skills in marketing, advocacy and networking with policymakers. Her experience includes working as a creative director and director for operations strategy for five years at Roma Agency Limted. In that role she developed advertising and branding strategy for a number of companies based in Kenya. She has led production teams in content creation as well as dissemination of the content as part of media strategy. Ms. Kiundi has worked with Soroptimist International to train women in business management, health and family planning primarily in the Korogocho slum in Nairobi. Ms. Kiundi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication from Africa Nazarene University and is waiting to graduate with a Master’s degree in corporate communication.
